Nicole Henry was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania to a musical family and was immersed in the arts, singing in church and school, while studying cello and ballet. Performance, however, was clearly her destiny. She matriculated at University of Miami and briefly pursued an acting career limited to commercials and voiceovers before acknowledging that she excelled at vocal jazz performance. Since her dazzling 2004 record debut, The Nearness of You, Nicole has established herself as one of the jazz world's most acclaimed vocalists. However, it was the 2011 release of the acclaimed Embraceable CD that expanded her repertoire beyond standards, as she introduced original compositions and even a touch of gospel. She benefited from an all-star jazz band that included Kirk Whalum, Gerald Clayton, Julian Lage, Gil Goldstein, Larry Grenadier and Eric Harland....
